PREMIER ART PLATINUM RAG
Premier Imaging have an outstanding range of fine Art papers for ALL large format ink jet printers in both sheet and roll versions. This month we want to feature Premier Art Platinum Rag paper. PremierArt Platinum
Rag is a unique Museum Grade OBA free cotton paper with a low gloss surface similar to fiber based black and white papers. This paper is on a 100% cotton base, and has an acid free coating that yields the highest D-max and color gamut of any cotton paper on the market today.
Its special features which stands it out from the crowd include outstanding performance with either Matt or Photo black inks.

"Tired of switching ink sets when changing from glossy to matte papers? This unique luster surface is compatible with both matte and photo black ink, increasing productivity and saving money by eliminating the need for that expensive ink swap. This paper is
actually the first luster paper designed for matte black ink. With matte black, the paper produces a deep black while retaining shadow detail. Platinum Rag has the highest D-max of any paper using matte black ink. While the photo black D-max is not as high, there is minimal gloss
differential, making it ideal for lower contrast work and portraits."
Platinum Rag is recommended to be "finished as follows:
For the longest lasting image, the print should be either framed under glass or sealed with a protective coating. PremierArt Print Shield has been formulated especially for PremierArt papers, and will increase the life of the image significantly, while
protecting the print from scuffing and other physical abrasions. If using matte black ink, Print Shield will also eliminate gloss differential! Print Shield has been tested by WIR and has been shown to significantly increase the Image Permanence Ratings of tested media.

Practically this means if you are using a printer primarily for say canvas work and matt black ink is installed you CAN print fine art grade black and white photo prints without changing back to a photo black. If you own a printer where changing the blacks
back and forwards is a requirement this can be a big deal! (If you own a printer like this Image Print 8 is another option!). Currently we have this in limited sizes of 24 inch rolls and A4 sheets. Its a unique product and we think its greatly under rated. We will expand
sheet and roll size options in 2011, let us know what media format suits you, if its not currently available on our web site.
